This self-catering studio was designed to provide you with the optimum view across the Sound of Sleat towards the mountains of Knoydart. You look over Knock Castle and will often see boats plying the sound.
The Studio is attached to the main house but you have your own entrance and private decking.
The walls, ceiling and floors of the house are highly insulated and thus energy saving and heat retaining. Walls are 1-2 ft thick and pressure filled with insulation and in some cases, wool.The house consequently retains a fairly constant temperature.
The house is also equipped with wall mounted electrical heaters throughout. In the event of power failure there is a gas heater available for the holiday let. When hot water is required it is heated at the point of requirement. This saves energy. Hot water storage systems, on the other hand, have to keep the stored water at a constant temperature. Hot water storage systems are therefore switching on an off throughout the day and wasting energy.
